Frontier Days

We would like to invite you to our 15th Annual Choctaw Frontier Days (formerly known as the Land Run Festival), scheduled for April 19th and 20th, 2018, at Choctaw Creek Park, located on Harper Road between northeast 10th Street and northeast 23rd Street. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m daily.

About the Festival

Choctaw is proud to boast that we are the oldest chartered city in the State of Oklahoma. Come help us celebrate the Oklahoma Land Run of April 22, 1889, when the eastern boundary of that run was the Indian Meridian. Today it is known as Indian Meridian Road, which runs north and south through Choctaw.

Activities

Planned activities include the following and more:

  • Cavalry Encampments
  • Cowboy Encampments
  • Gun Fights
  • Historical Figure Presentations
  • Historical Cooking Presentations
  • Jailhouse
  • Old Fashioned Games, and more!

Admission, Parking & Vendors

This event is free of charge, as well as parking, for the general public. Food and merchandise vendors are present, and everyone is welcome for all activities at any time.

Students Groups

The 2017 festival drew over 2,000 students and 1,000 spectators and was very successful.  Students had a lot of fun with the reenactments and hands-on experiences.  We hope that you schedule a field trip for your family or students to let them experience this unique living history festival.
