Welcome to the 14th Annual Choctaw Frontier Days at Choctaw Creek Park
We would like to invite you to our 14th Annual Choctaw Frontier Days (formerly known as the Land Run Festival) scheduled for April 20 and 21, 2017 at Choctaw Creek Park located on Harper Street between NE 10th St and NE 23rd St.
Choctaw is proud to boast that we are the oldest chartered city in the State of Oklahoma. Come help us celebrate the Oklahoma Land Run of April 22, 1889. The east boundary of that run was the Indian Meridian. Today it is known as Indian Meridian Road which runs through Choctaw.
The event runs from 9am to 3pm and planned activities are historical presentations, re-enactor encampments, historical figure presentations, cowboy encampments, cavalry encampments, jailhouse, gun fights, old fashioned games, and lot’s more…
This Event is free of charge and so is parking for the general public… Food and Merchandise Vendors are present…and everyone is welcome for all activities at any time.
Last April’s festival drew about 2,000 students and 1,000 spectators and was very successful. The students had a lot of fun and hands-on experiences. They just loved it. We hope that you schedule a field trip for your family or students to let them experience this unique living history festival.
As we can accommodate only a fixed number of students please contact us as soon as possible with to schedule your group commitment. Please call Ryan Hill at 405-281-6854 for any questions. Or print, fill out and mail application form.
