Christmas in Choctaw
Christmas in Choctaw will be held at the Choctaw Creek Golf Course, located at 2200 N. Hiwassee on Saturday, December 1st, 2018.
Pictures with Santa from 1pm – 4pm.
Stay for the entertainment, crafts, and treats, then we’ll see you at the tree lighting ceremony!
Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 5pm, at the intersection of Main Street and Gilbert Street.
Santa will be at the Golf Course event for pictures and Christmas wish discussions with all the kids. Each child will receive a toy and candy and will have the opportunity to make their own Christmas decoration. In addition, there will be Magic and Science performers, storytellers, and crafts for the kids. This is a free event, so come and celebrate with us!
Once that is over, come down to Main Street where we will have the Second Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony! There will be carolers, vendors selling hot chocolate, and Christmas lights and decorations, marking the beginning of the Christmas season in Choctaw.
The “Christmas in Choctaw” event is sponsored by the City of Choctaw and the Public Recreation Board.

The first “Christmas in the Plaza” event was held on December 5th, 2009 and was a huge success. More than 450 children visited with Santa and had their picture taken. They received candy and toys furnished by the City and Team Choctaw. Subsequent events have continued to grow and have become a treasured holiday tradition for many families.
With the growth of the Christmas event, we have added more activities for families to enjoy. A magic show entertains the kids and adults alike. A children’s art section is available where they can make their own Christmas ornament and decorations to take home. A storyteller is on hand and brings the magic of Christmas to the children with time-honored stories. Team Choctaw, with the help of the Choctaw Kiwanis, serves hot chocolate and cookies.
Join Santa again this year and have your child’s picture taken. All activities will be free of charge.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
